The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has published a detailed statistical breakdown of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.
The report provides a comprehensive overview of the performance of Nigerian candidates who participated in the nationwide examination.
According to JAMB, out of the 1,955,069 candidates who sat for the 2025 UTME, more than 1.5 million scored below 200.
On the higher end of the scale, the Board reported that 4,756 candidates scored above 320, while 7,658 scored between 300 and 319.
In its accompanying statement, JAMB noted that 40,247 underage candidates were allowed to sit for the exam to showcase their outstanding abilities. However, only 467 of these candidates—representing 1.16%—achieved scores meeting the UTME’s defined threshold for exceptional performance. Their results in the remaining three assessment stages are still pending.
